Amy Johnson, Antepartum,Birth and Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Certified Lactation Consultant

Having had complicated pregnancies and deliveries herself, Amy understands firsthand, the fears and challenges that can  come along with the unknown but also understands and realizes that labor does not need to be a scary or negative experience. Through education, support, and mindfulness, she will help you set goals to create your own birthing and postpartum experience and make this a truly unique, loving, joyful, and sometimes funny memory. A large part of Amy's motivation is to minimize fears about childbirth, help families make informed choices, and to be able to play a role that creates a more positive attitude towards childbirth and child rearing in every aspect.

Amy Johnson has been working with families in one capacity or another for over 25 years. She has been a nanny, childcare provider, parent educator, and has worked as a professionally practicing  Antepartum,  Birth,  and Postpartum Doula, a Certified Lactation Consultant, as well as a  Childbirth Educator since 2012. She teaches private and semi-private Prepared Childbirth, Natural Childbirth, Newborn Care, and Breastfeeding classes. She also understands the value of healthy sleep habits for the whole family and teaches strategies for sleep success. 



As a mother of three herself, she understands first hand, the many joys as well as challenges that raising a family has to offer. Amy believes deeply that EVERY mother, father and child deserves compassion, understanding, and loving support through their journey into parenthood, beginning (of course!) with pregnancy. Her ultimate goal is to help all families thrive. Her passion for empowering families shows in her enthusiasm and love for what she does as do the testimonials of the families she has touched.

In her work, helping each member of a family adjust to the addition of a new baby is one of her favorite roles. With over 200 families served and counting, she is well seasoned and experienced in working with a wide variety of personalities, cultural diversities and parenting philosophies. It is of the utmost importance to her to always use an unbiased and evidence based approach when working with each family she encounters, supporting their personal beliefs and values.
